Dorian Petoku arrested: escaped Albanian narcos found in Dubai. He was a friend of ‘Diabolik’
He was convicted of international drug trafficking in the ‘Grand Criminal Junction’ trial. In December 2023, he had escaped from the rehabilitation community where he had been transferred against the advice of the judges.
Dorian Petoku, Albanian narcos and friend of Fabrizio Piscitelli, better known as ‘Diabolik’, the ultras leader killed in 2019, was caught. He was hiding in Dubai after escaping from the rehabilitation community in Nola (Naples), where he had been transferred by the judicial authorities despite contrary opinions from the Rome Public Prosecutor’s Office.
The escape, which took place in December 2023, followed his first-degree conviction for international drug trafficking in the ‘Grande raccordo criminale’ trial.
The operation saw the cooperation of the Italian authorities with those of the Emirates: the Gico of the Nucleo di polizia economico-finanziaria in Rome, the Officer of the Security Expert Corps at the Italian Embassy in the United Arab Emirates and the Most wanted person department of the Dubai police. The Capital’s Anti-Mafia District Directorate coordinated the work.
Despite his escape, the Guardia di Finanza came into possession of several pieces of information on Petoku’s movements and whereabouts. He was therefore arrested and will now undergo the extradition process, which should not give rise to any problems. Once in Italy, he will have to serve his sentence.
