Helicopter crashes into the Hudson River in New York: “All six people on board confirmed dead”

Aerial Tragedy in Manhattan, where six people died in the crash of a helicopter flying over the Hudson River. The causes of the disaster are still unknown. The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate.
Witnesses reported that the main rotor of the helicopter had detached from the aircraft, as shown in social media videos where parts of the helicopter can be seen breaking off and then falling into the water along with the aircraft.
The victims of the accident are a family of Spanish tourists, consisting of two adults and three children. The sixth victim is the helicopter pilot.
According to New York City Mayor Eric Adams, “the helicopter that crashed into the Hudson River broke apart mid-air and fell upside down into the river between Manhattan and the New Jersey shoreline.” Adams stated that all of the deceased have been recovered and pulled from the water.
Images of the aircraft—a Bell 206—quickly circulated on social media, showing it upside down in the water and surrounded by rescue teams, who, however, were unable to save anyone.
This is yet another accident in the overcrowded skies above the Big Apple, where airplanes and helicopters cross paths for private, tourist, and commercial flights. Manhattan has several heliports transporting executives and other individuals to destinations across the metropolitan area. Tourist flights are also highly popular.
The tragedy reopens the debate on safety.
